Bishop Phillip M. Davis (1952-2015)
The Most Reverend Phillip Milton Davis, DMin. (1952-2015) is the founder of Nations Ford Community Church of Charlotte, NC. In addition to establishing and growing the Nations Ford Community Church, Dr. Davis also founded the Galilean Baptist Church, Charlotte, NC and the Alpha Community Church, Alpharetta, GA.
As a pastor in the city of Charlotte for 36 years, he consistently dedicated himself as a Servant of God to the religious, educational, and humanitarian welfare of the Charlotte community, and to all mankind.
As a Man of God, he preached an authentic and transforming word. His message was the antidote for broken lives and wounded spirits. His ministry transcended ethnic barriers and reached people from all walks of life.
In the religious community, Bishop Davis began a bible study group in his home and founded Nations Ford Baptist Church in 1988. Under his astute leadership the church acquired property at 7410 Nations Ford Road and expanded a Family Life Center there. Membership expanded to over 1,500 locally, not including fellowship churches, numerous outreach ministries, as well as television and radio broadcasts.
In 1993, Bishop Davis was elected the first African-American as Moderator of the Mecklenburg Baptist Association and also the first to serve as Vice President of the Baptist State Convention of North Carolina.
In the educational community, Dr. Davis founded Queen City Bible College formerly known as Queen City Bible Institute in 1993; Nations Ford Early Childhood Development Center now Nations Ford Christian Academy in 1998; and The Male Leadership Academy of Charlotte in 2012 as an accredited, K – 6th grade all boys school.
Bishop Davis was the recipient of numerous awards, plaques and plaudits from community and social organizations for his humanitarian and spiritual contributions. During 2003 – 2012 Bishop Davis started the Envision Life Broadcast WOGR 1540AM and 88.3FM, published his 2nd book, Father Force, and took his first missions trip to Kenya, South Africa. His most recent book is entitled "The Untapped Power of A Man." Dr. Davis graduated from Xavier University of Cincinnati, Ohio with a Degree in Business. He received his Master of Ministry and Doctor of Divinity Degrees from Carolina School of Theology. He was a gifted motivational teacher, a compassionate pastor and preacher, and an entrepreneurial style leader and visionary.
Dr. Davis also established Phillip Davis Ministries and Phillip Davis Enterprises, a Personal and Professional Leadership Development and Coaching organization designed to help individuals and organizations improve their performance and enhance their quality of life.
He and his wife Dr. Cynthia L. Davis have three adult children and three grandchildren. His legacy lives on through the Davis family, his congregation and his eldest son, Phillip RJ Davis, who now serves as the Senior Pastor of Nations Ford Community Church.

Dr. Cynthia L. Davis has been involved with ministry all of her adult life and has served alongside her husband, Bishop Phillip M. Davis throughout their 40 plus years of marriage.
Cynthia Davis currently serves as the Community Services Officer, giving Leadership to the Southwest Community Development Corporation, Community Outreach Services of Nations Ford Community Church and serves as Executive Director for Phillip Davis Ministries.
Dr. Davis holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Business Administration, a Master’s Degree in Organizational Leadership & Management from Montreat College, a Certificate in Non-Profit Management from Wake Forest University and an Honorary Doctorate Degree from American Theological Seminary.
Cynthia is an anointed and powerful speaker and Bible teacher, known for her direct and candid style of communication. She has traveled extensively in the United States and abroad sharing the principles of the Kingdom of God and spreading the Good News of Jesus Christ.
Cynthia is a multi-talented and gifted woman of God, who is focused on developing the potential in other women and men. She specializes in leadership development and ministering to Pastor’s spouses. She is the mother of two sons and one daughter and the grandmother of three granddaughters.
